We at Physical/Psycho-Social Rehabilitation Institutes (PPSRI) – Sri Lanka are a non-governmental organization (NGO) established to enhance and restore the lives of the Sri Lankan people ravaged by more than two decades of war. PPSRI - Sri Lanka is focused on healing affected people both physically, psychologically and socially.
The PPSRI - Sri Lanka Board of Directors and the PPSRI - Sri Lanka Fund has been established to raise funds for two (2) rehabilitation centers in Sri Lanka : an inpatient center in the Northern Province with 20 beds and an outpatient center in the Southern Province.
It is the mission of the PPSRI - Sri Lanka Board to raise funds to build and furnish these facilities. All Board Members are volunteers. All Board Members furnish their own expenses to participate in this endeavor. All proceeds will go directly towards the building and supplying of these facilities.
The PPSRI - Sri Lanka Board has chosen "Give2Asia" to hold all funds in trust. The PPSRI - Sri Lanka Fund is a fund of "Give2Asia," a 503c (US tax exempt) Company. Donations are available on-line through "Give2Asia" and through Pay-Pal.
OUR PROJECT
The proposed project includes two (2) Rehabilitation Institutes which include an inpatient facility in Northern Province with 20 beds, and an outpatient institute in Southern Province.
The project has received blessings from decision makers in both the Sri Lankan and the United States governments. We envision the project to be completed within five (5) years after the Sri Lankan Government agrees to the land donation, location, and final transfer of operations for the facility.
OUR Plan
The Inpatient institute in the Northern Province will consist of 20 beds. This facility will be built at a location to be determined by the Sri Lankan Government. The Outpatient Institute will be located in the Southern Province. This facility will be built at a location to be determined by the Sri Lankan Government.
In addition, the PPSRI - Sri Lanka Board of Trustees plan to build these Institutes and fully furnish them, including providing for start-up supplies. Due to the unique nature of the Board Members, assistance in training staff needed at these locations and consulting regarding operations will be able to be provided. Once completed, it is the Board’s intent to hand these institutes over to the Sri Lankan Government to be used as they see fit to assist the people of Sri Lanka.
