Who we serve
After 30 years of civil unrest, physical and psychological trauma on the general population of Sri Lanka, experts in the United States and Sri Lanka agree, the most important need is for rehabilitation of patients both physically and psychologically.
Our two (2) facilities will treat patients with injuries due to trauma such as gun shot wounds, amputations of both upper and lower extremities, strokes, paralysis due to trauma, fractures of bones due to trauma, gait disturbances, hand injuries, other trauma and injuries due to land mines, and others.
The goal of these facilities is to treat these patients both physically and psychologically, and resettle them back into the community. These facilities will treat both adults and children.
We plan to include prosthetic workshops in both the Northern and Southern locations so that prosthetics may be made locally.
We anticipate that the outpatient facility to be located in the Southern Province will serve soldiers returning from the battle-front, and those affected by the Tsunami.
